Google can relax about ChatGPT. For about a minute.
A screengrab speaks volumes.
ChatGPT and Google’s responses to a query about Ron DeSantis’ handpicked Board, the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District, and the extent to which Disney’s legal tactics rendered it useless.
As Ron DeSantis learned, playing politics and governing are two different ball games. The mouse has been around a lot longer and clearly has better legal representation.
In terms of what information I was seeking, Google caught on quickly. ChatGPT is a little behind the times. Not only did it know nothing about the latest legal tactic, but it also added:
“As far as I know, the Walt Disney Company operates independently and is not governed by any external board appointed by a political figure.”
Google, on the other hand, immediately provided me with the relevant and up-to-date links, posted below for posterity and context.
Bing’s latest AI appeared to be the best informed to date, and knew what I was referring to without more prompting.
According to a recent news article, Disney created a declaration that said any changes to the district must be made to benefit Walt Disney World just weeks before Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis announced a new, hand-picked board to take over Disney’s long-held special governing district in Orlando. This declaration is allowing Disney’s magic kingdom to circumvent DeSantis’ board for decades to come.
